Hair Loss Treatment

Ayurvedic care for hair fall, thinning and scalp health - planned around the cause of your hair loss

Hair Fall (Khalitya)

Why Is My Hair Falling?

Losing 50 to 100 hairs a day is normal. When hair fall increases, the hair becomes thin or bald patches appear, it is usually a sign of an underlying cause - stress, poor nutrition, hormonal changes, scalp problems or family history.

In Ayurveda, hair fall is called Khalitya and is mainly linked to an imbalance of Pitta dosha. Our doctors first find out what is causing your hair loss, and then plan treatment for both the scalp and the body.

Common Causes

What Causes Hair Fall?

01

Stress & Poor Sleep

Physical or emotional stress can push many hairs into the shedding phase at the same time.

02

Nutritional Deficiency

Low iron, protein, vitamin D or vitamin B12 commonly cause thinning hair.

03

Hormonal Changes

Thyroid problems, PCOS, pregnancy, childbirth and menopause can all trigger hair fall.

04

Dandruff & Scalp Problems

Dandruff, scalp infections and an oily or itchy scalp weaken the hair roots.

05

Family History

Male and female pattern hair loss often runs in families and starts gradually.

06

Hair Treatments & Heat

Frequent colouring, straightening, tight hairstyles and heat styling damage the hair.

Our Ayurvedic Approach

Treatment depends on the cause of your hair loss, your body type (prakriti) and your general health. A plan usually combines:

  • Finding the cause: a detailed history and, where needed, blood tests such as thyroid, iron or vitamin levels
  • Internal medicines: Ayurvedic herbs that support nutrition, digestion and hormonal balance
  • Scalp care: medicated oils and herbal hair packs suited to your scalp type
  • Therapies: Nasya and Shirodhara may be advised when stress or poor sleep is a major factor
  • Diet & lifestyle: a hair-friendly diet, sleep routine and gentle hair-care habits

Hair grows slowly, so improvement is gradual and usually takes a few months. Results vary from person to person, and long-standing pattern baldness may not fully regrow.

Medicines and therapies are prescribed only after a consultation. Please do not start any herb or medicine on your own.
